1940 Taylorcraft BC 65
HELLO EVERYONE - My name is Steven Seaman. I put this website together originally to show off a beautiful restored 1940 Taylocraft that I had owned. Anyone interested in old T-crafts may find the website interesting. I have some nice restoration and general photos of this aircraft. After I sold the T-craft, the site has kind of turned into a history of previous aircraft that I have owned. I am a Certified Flight Instructor and A&P Mechanic plus I was just awarded the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. I will be posting videos from time to time that I hope have some instructional value. Some of my videos posted may require instruction from a qualified person prior to attempting them.
Let me give you some history of this aircraft. The airframe was completely stripped and disassembled and then restored to better than new condition. It originally had a Franklin 65 hp engine, but at some point was changed to a Continental C-65. The aircraft has had about 20 owners, and was used extensively as a trainer in the 40's. It has been damaged and rebuilt several times! The cockpit in this aircraft is pretty cramped and not much of a useful load with full fuel of 18gal. I usually flew solo! I earned my pilot certificate in 1966, and over these many years have owned quite a few aircraft. I have posted pics of all my aircraft in the PHOTOS section, click on the photo and get a brief history of that aircraft, with the dates that I owned them. I have enjoyed all of these aircraft, they all served a purpose at the time. If anyone has any questions about any of these aircraft, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for your interest.
